Robert Taylor - Deacon On Jan. 27, 1952, I was born in St. Vincent’s hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. At 15 years old, I was baptized at Trussville Church of Christ. My parents, Brady and Francis Taylor, attended the Trussville Church from the middle 60’s until the Lord called them home in 1999 and 2002. In 1958, I started the 1st grade at Hewitt (Steve Waid was a classmate of mine). In 1970, I graduated from Hewitt. I attended two years at Jefferson State Jr. College. In 1972, I was drafted into the US Army. I served two years --- spending one year in South Korea. In 1975, I married my high school sweet heart and we’ve been happily married for 37 years. After my military duty, I went to work for Norfolk Southern Railroad (Southern Railroad then) where I worked for 37 good years. I am now retired. We have three children Daphne, Bo and Brett. Our son-in-law, Mike Gibbs, is married to Daphne and our daughter-in-law, Mandy, is married to Bo. We have 5 grandchildren Allen, Taylor, and Emma Gibbs by Mike and Daphne. Trey and Finley Taylor by Bo and Mandy. For the past 36 years, I have been an avid tennis player...USTA computer rating of 4.5. My passions are photography and astronomy("The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Palms 19:1).
